Love Week

This past week has rekindled a love for DC in the spring that I had forgotten.  While you were freezing we had the perfect day:

It lasted two days long.

Perfection didn't stop there.  My most favorite person in the whole world (Seth is not included in this contest) came out to visit.

My sister, Shari, and her darling son Daniel came out.  We went to the zoo, in Februrary, the weather was 77.  It was almost toasty.  It is the dead of winter.

Daniel, Tiger, and Stella...rub a dub dub
The kids are having some serious cousin love.

It has been so much fun.

But it gets better.

On Saturday winter decided it wasn't willing to leave and so there was some serious wind.  Like 70 mph gusts.  We ignored the wind and had a Love Day party.  This was partly because we have no idea if we can throw any sort of party for the kids in May/June due to our impending move.  Stella claimed that "this was the most important day of her life."  And really when you have only been alive for three years it very well might have.  Aunt Shari helped make tiaras with all the kidlings.  We made heart shaped pizza with heart shaped pepperoni.  There was cupcake and cookie decorating and it was delightful.

But it got better.

Tonight we had a blast from my high school past over for dinner.  The Leung sisters Debbie and Sherry came over to visit.  It was so much fun.  I got to meet Debbie's husband, Adam, catch up, and it felt really good to reminisce about the old days.

But it gets even better.

Aunt Andrea and Uncle Ben picked up Stella for a sleep-over.  She was looking out the window all evening in anticipation.  This is her second sleep-over and she is a pro now.

But this is the best:

Tomorrow is a holiday that has no major obligation, a free day!  We get a three day weekend!

Happy Presidents Day!

Just found your blog today, but for some reason the page wouldn't load for me to comment on a more on-topic post. Anyway... I was reading that you want to train for a half marathon, no idea how you are in your goal, but I actually organize a running group out of Arlington, if you ever want to tag along with us (right now we're training for the Shamrock Half Marathon in VA Beach, but we train for races -- or just run for the hell of it -- year-round).

Though you might not actually get to run with me -- we're off to Manila in April (which is how I found your blog in the first place!).

Oh, and of course, in my rush to comment, forgot to link it to our running group...
