Sanggol

Seth and I are having a baby...again. Baby #2 is on its way. I am now 13 weeks pregnant, finally feeling well, and looking two chubby to want to have people guess (I started showing a month earlier this time).

The baby will be almost exactly two years from Stella. In my mind I figure we are going to be living abroad for the most of our kid's lives. I wanted them close enough in age so they could play together if we were in the middle of no where or stuck on a secluded compound for three years.

So that is our big news. As usual I have been sick for about six weeks. This time it has been better though. Since I work from home I have been able to nap for two hours a day with Stella and sleep 9 hours at night. It has been divine.

Once again I got nauseaus but with Stella the puke amount was innumerable, this little one, three times.

A lot of people are freaked out by the medical care here but let me assure you, I have never felt better taken care of in my life. I loved my DC doc but she was busy and our visits were quick and insignificant. Here the doctor gives you her cell number, you text her when ever there is a question and you get a quick response back.

I get an ultrasound every visit and feel like a VIP every time I go to the doctor. They care and it shows.

I am planning on delivering here when the time comes for a number of reasons. The most important is being at my parent's home with a toddler and a newborn for three months (State makes you go six weeks early and stay for six weeks post), would most definately be a bad idea for everyone involved.

We will keep you updated.

Shampoo Commercial or Asian Horror Movie?

About two-thirds of tv commercials in the Philippines are for shampoos. Wherever I channel surf, there they are: beautiful women with long, black locks of hair, contrasted against white backgrounds. They usually move in slow motion, so we can see every swoop and bounce of their tresses. The hair looks alive. Is alive. Swims through the air like a mermaid's tail and is impossible to entangle.

The thing is, the commercials remind me of the long-haired demons of Asian horror titles. And not in a good way.

The more shampoo commercials I see, the more frightened I become that it is only a matter of time before the hair will come for me, and for you.
