I love this video of Stella. It shows evidence of her daily activities. Note the Casablanca DVD she has thrown on the floor. As she looks for some more goods she gets more than she bargains for. The best part is how Seth and I just watch her without reacting. Pure evidence that we are starting to feel like ole pros.

And That's the Tooth

The title of this blog is a tribute to my husband who is passionate about bad headlines.
Stella has tripled her tooth quotient in a matter of days. She got four suckers that decided to come in at once. I thought the first two were bad, these are bad and iced with separation anxiety. I think it is interesting that around 8 months when babies start to really get around, they also start to really freak out when mom (or dad) get too far away.
So as Stella starts to cruise across the living room and into the kitchen (which is a "no-no" zone), she cries when I am too far away, which is all her doing because she crawled away. It makes for an interesting dynamic.
To make matters worse the babysitter at my gym has told me I can only work-out for 20 minutes because it is too hard for Stella. I told her she needed to learn and that I would continue to work out for 30 minutes. This babysitter is a bit opinionated for my tastes. I am finding that as I flex my parental muscles I am a bit put off by people telling me what I am doing wrong with my child, especially when it is unsolicited.
Oh, and for those who read this blog...Seth has some news he will post himself (no we aren't pregnant again, although today I was told I had better hurry because my years are limited...why does this keep happening to me?!)

Garth Marenghi's Dark Place
Our new obsession, now playing late at night on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. The conceit: a low-rent Stephen King clone's "mindblowing" horror/thriller show, done on what looks like a budget of $5. If you are not watching it, you aren't living life to its fullest. Watch it. Here is the website: http://www.garthmarenghi.com/darkplace/default.htm
Votes
I have vowed to keep this blog apolitical. I will keep it that way. That being said, I have never been so excited to vote as I am tomorrow. Hey Virginia! Quit loving and start voting.

The Bug
Stella came down with a nasty bug this week. It looks a lot like the rotavirus (although, it isn't likely that is it because she has had her rota shots). The point is we have had some serious diaper issues for the past 7 days. The worst part, surprisingly, isn't the diaper itself. It is the diaper rash. It is probably the saddest thing I have ever seen. I ended up calling the pediatrician last night begging her for a script to help her with it. She told me to let her "air dry" as much as possible. Today I felt like I had a puppy. I put down all sorts of protectors on the carpet and let her play. I guess this is my comupance for all of my previous posts about crazy pet owners.
I have some video for you folks. The first is Seth and Stella playing. She loves her dad and he is so good with her. Pretty cute. The next is Stella learning how to clap. She does it all the time. I think it calms her down because she even does it when she is mad. Enjoy!
